Choban Grill in Jacksonville

I wasn't aware that this was an authentic Greek restaurant but I soon found out that it was. Seeing that I'm from Chicago I am pretty familiar with gyro sandwiches. And then that Valdosta doesn't have any authentic gyro sandwiches I couldn't wait to get to Jacksonville to get me one. But at this restaurant they gave me hummus some different kind of cucumber salads and a lot of strange stuff that I wasn't familiar with cabbage roll and things of that nature... But for my overall experience I was happy after I returned my food and explain to them exactly what I wanted and they were happy to oblige me which I greatly appreciate it I will be back but not for the hummus grape leaf raps or the cucumber salad just give me a plane gyro with onions tomatoes and tzatziki sauce and I'm good.

I came here the weekend my hometown was having it's annual Greekfest and I was feeling nostalgic. Haven't had real gyro in years.. the Gyro meat is authentic, carved off spit as it should be, pita tzatziki are all very good. I bought meat by the pound , and several sides of tzatziki and pita. I bought some lettuce on my own, and brick of feta (cuz fresh grated feta is only way) and I was in heaven for days. My boyfriend really liked it too! I'll be back next time I have cravings. Young Girl working was very kind and quick in putting it all together for me.

Authentic- homemade- fresh food. Completely worth the drive. The staff is very helpful when trying to decide what to order. Give this place a try. I’m hooked on this place.

Surprisingly very good and very big lamb gyro along with some flavorful sides. As good as I have had elsewhere in Jacksonville

Love this place. I order their 'plates' and its a ton of food for the price. And the food is really good. All of it is fresh. Lasts me for 2 meals - but I also don't eat tons of food at one sitting.

5 stars would mean perfection and I don’t think anyone is perfect so I’m giving them 4 Stars! But with Jessica as an employee they deserve 5 Stars! Myself and my husband had the privilege to meet Jessica today after we stumbled across Choban Grill on Phillips Highway. We told her that we recently changed our eating habits and were looking for a fresh taste and let me tell you.... Fresh is exactly what we got! Choban Grill is delicious 🤤 Jessica’s customer service was like no other!! She really is the reason we’re coming back! Polite, cheerful and patient. Thank you Jessica for your kindness and I hope you never let anyone or anything change that about you. People like you in this world are truly a gem 💎

Huge fan of there greek gyros. One of the best i have been able to find.

This place is amazing and I was amazed when we arrived there was one the owner working it by himself and I couldn't be more impressed. The place is small but clean and nice atmosphere and the food was top notch, highly recommended.

I get the gyro every time and I am never disappointed. Delicious food and friendly staff. I will come here every time I am craving a gyro and is noticeably better than other places I have tried. Lamb is juicy and cooked beautifully with all of the usual sides. I would recommend to anyone!

Excellent food but today was the last time I’ll be spending my money here. The man working there has a severe attitude problem. I ordered food for my office via Grubhub and the food was not ready when I got there; that was not the issue. He immediately started with his smirky attitude, questioning me as if it was my fault that he had not seen my order. He then looked at his little screen, saw my order, and immediately realized he was wrong.This man is not Greek, as Greek people are nothing short of hospitable. Terrible representation of your establishment and the great country of Greece. I will find another Greek restaurant to spend my money. I don’t care how good the food is; disrespect puts a bad taste in my mouth.

The food was amazing! Will definitely be coming here again, real authentic Greek food! Amazing tzatziki! Thanks for amazing food, and amazing service and if you like tea, try the Turkish tea. My 4 year old son couldn't get enough, he loved all the food and tea.

If I could give them a zero, I would... This place used to be great. We got our gyros and they had straight sour cream instead of tzatziki sauce, cheddar cheese instead of feta, and their dressing was a vinegar mixed with water not oil... we know the difference YOU IDIOT WHO HUNG UP ON ME TWICE! Water mixes with vinegar!!!! Oil and vinegar separate!!! We will NEVER order here again!!!!

I absolutely love coming here! The food is so good. Flavours are amazing. The Tzatziki sauce is very light but full of flavor. The falafel balls are very yummy. The Taboulleh is amazing and bother the Lamb and chicken gyros are a great deal and large and super tasty. If your new definitely try the dessert baklava, it is such a delight. The owner is. Ultra friendly which makes spending my hard earned money much easier! Definitely 5* for the food, the customer service. I will say that the decor is not thrilling but the restroom is always clean and so is the rest of the restaurant. It's hard to spot from the road so if you see a Subway and a steak n shake you are right there.

Great little place! It takes a little time because they specially make every order, but the food is great and consistent. I generally go with the Chicken Gyro Pita, but the Lamb Gyro Pita is also a great option. It is generally only a couple of people working, but they often pay really close attention to their guests. They generally even give a little extra treat for those that dine in from time to time in the form of tea or a taste test.

The 1st time I went the food and service was excellent. This time I walked in the young lady working was to busy on her to get my order. I repeated my order 4 times. Then when it was time to check out i asked for my fries and again she said what was it u were ordering. i explained the special. Had to wait for fresh fries which was fine. She asked if i wanted salt i told her no. She put them in the already dirty salt bowl. If i go back it will be during the day.

Great food at a fair price. The gyro was perfect! The sides we had of Greek salad, taboule and grape leaves were really good. Fresh and full of flavor. Atmosphere and staff were good to go as well. Hope we return for another soccer game in the area as we'll be eating here again.

All I can say is I love this place! I eat here every Friday. You gotta try the hot sauce. Y.U.M!

My honest assessment of this Establishment, don't waste your time,I stopped by today ordered a salad with lamb,and chicken,both meats were dry to the point of not being able to chew them,,I told the girl making the salad,to add Tzatziki to my salad,she dumped what looked to be a half a cup plop in the middle of my salad,the store was dirty,the owner made me feel like was doing me a favor by serving me,I wont come back to this establishment, in the future,there are better Greek restaurants in the Area,with higher quality standards than this establishment.I f substandard food and service is your thing,then this is the place for you.

greek food, very satisfying. One of the best spots of its kind in the area. The service was very friendly and kind. This place has a good design.

Love this place. You can get tasty and healthy food easily. The owner is nice and polite. I drive 20 miles for once a week for this. Just understand that though like many other gyro spots, the lamb has beef mixed. So keep that in mind if you don't partake either of those for health or religious reasons.

This may seem like an unassuming fast food join, but don't let that discourage you... Yes, the place is small, yes the owner works the entire place. But this have been the best gyro I've had since I live in Germany a few years back and used frequent Greek restaurants in search of the perfect Gyro... If you want something better take a leisure drive to the Greek area of Tarpon Springs just north of St Petersburg FL.

I was craving gyros and decided to go here. It was in a calm nice area and the gyro was delicious. I don’t know what they put in the fries but they are really good too.

My husband and I usually eat here regularly tonight was just plain awful I called and made the lady aware of the situation and she felt nothing was wrong with it and that I could come back Monday cause they were closing soon I explained to her that I couldn't even eat it and that i have never been served food like this before from them ever and she just didn't care needless to say I won't be returning to this restaurant anymore which is a shame I'll give my hard earned money to someone who takes pride in there food and customer service from here on out! The bread was so hard it was falling apartThe meat was burnt and not edible And I paid $10.00 for what!

This place was great! There was only one employee, but he took care of our orders quickly and efficiently. He was very nice. The food was delicious. We will definitely be going back here again.

Everything here is amazing. They have the best gyros I have ever had!...and that says a lot. The tabouleh, the baklava, the falafel, everything is fresh and delicious. The service is great too; everyone I've met is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Choban Grill!
